Trastuzumab for injection is a targeted cancer medication (a monoclonal antibody) used to treat HER2-positive breast cancer and stomach cancer. It works by binding to the HER2 protein on cancer cells to slow or stop their growth and signal the immune system to destroy them.

  • Intravenous (IV) infusion: The initial dose typically takes about 90 minutes, while subsequent doses can be given over 30 to 90 minutes.

  • Subcutaneous (SC) injection: A fixed-dose injection under the skin (usually in the thigh) may be available for breast cancer treatment, which takes a shorter time (2-5 minutes).
