Menotropin (also known as human menopausal gonadotropin or hMG) for injection is a prescription fertility medication containing a mixture of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). It is used to treat infertility in both women and men caused by hormonal imbalances. 

Key Uses

Menotropin is used in both sexes to address specific infertility issues: 

• In women, it stimulates the development and maturation of ovarian follicles (which contain eggs), especially in those who do not ovulate properly (anovulation) or who are undergoing assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like in-vitro fertilization (IVF). It is often used in combination with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to trigger ovulation (egg release).

• In men, it is used to treat hypogonadism (a condition where the body does not produce enough of certain hormones) and increase low sperm count by boosting testosterone and stimulating sperm production in the testes.
