Bondronat (Ibandronic Acid) tablets are bisphosphonate medications used to strengthen bones by slowing bone loss and increasing density, primarily for treating osteoporosis and preventing fractures, especially in postmenopausal women and patients with breast cancer and bone metastases, also managing high blood calcium. It works by inhibiting bone breakdown, reducing calcium loss from bones, and must be taken correctly—swallowed whole with water on an empty stomach, remaining upright for an hour after—to prevent esophageal irritation.
