Apixaban is an oral anticoagulant ("blood thinner") used to reduce the risk of stroke, treat blood clots in veins (DVT), and prevent pulmonary embolism (PE). It acts as a factor Xa inhibitor, usually taken twice daily (typically 2.5mg or 5mg) with or without food.
