Abacavir Sulphate and Lamivudine tablets are a combination antiretroviral medicine used to treat HIV infection by slowing the virus's replication, helping the immune system function better, and are taken with other HIV drugs. They contain two active ingredients, abacavir and lamivudine, and are prescribed as part of a complete regimen, but require careful monitoring for potentially severe allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, which can occur and necessitate permanent discontinuation. 

How it works

• It's a nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) combination.

• It blocks an enzyme HIV needs to multiply, lowering the viral load and preserving immune function.
